This is a great book about how Mackinac Island came to be. It is about a long time ago when there is no land. An old turtle and his friends are going to make an island if they can find some sand from the bottom of the ocean. They will put it on his back and he will turn into an island. Who will get the sand: the loon, otter, beaver, or the duck.

I think you would like this book if you like adventure books or animal stories.
