In Artemis Fowl: The Arctic Incident, Artemis gets a suspicious e-mail from the Arctic Circle in Russia. It says that the Russian mafia is holding his missing father hostage. He asks for fairy help to rescue his father. Holly Short and Julius Root agree to go to the Arctic Circle with him and of coarse Butler. While they are in Russia they get attacked by three members of the goblin rebellion, boarded a train full of radioactive barrels, and Holly loses a finger. In the mist of all that trouble can they manage to rescue Artemis’s father or will they have to leave Russia unsuccessful?
